Annie Mae Burrell Johnson, 83, of 54 Mt. Carmel Road, Lot 2, Asheville, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in an Asheville hospital.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Habersham County, GA, and was a daughter of the late Tom and Wilma Ledford Burrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Johnson who died in 1978, and by a daughter Paulette Drury who died in 1987. She was a former employee of Mars-White Knight Manufacturing Co.
Surviving are two daughters, Bobbie Jean Stastny Barber of Annapolis, MD and Jessie Palumbo of Crofton, MD; three sons, Lewis Johnson of Villages, FL, Howard Johnson of Leicester and George Johnson of the home; one sister Ruth Craft and her husband Bob of Asheville; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Howard officiating.
Pallbearers will be Robert Drury, Sr., Robert Drury, Jr., Mike Drury and Randall King.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Mt. Carmel Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
