Annie Marie Blazer Ball, 90, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 29, 2003.
Born on April 16, 1913, in Marshall, she resided at 117 Dryman Valley Road, Asheville. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Deaver Blazer; husband, Roy William Ball; brothers, Robert and Howard Blazer; sisters, Willie Mae Ramsey, Mattie Davis and Sophronia Allman. Mrs. Ball retired from Connie Fashions.
Annie is survived by sisters Orla Ball of Marshall and Blanche Ball of Candler and sisters-in-law, Eloise Daniels of Michigan, Hannah Sams, Viola Blazer, Frances Ball, Pauline Jones of Candler and Marjorie Calabrese of California; children, son Jerry Ball and his wife Ernie of Waynesboro, VA; daughters Sandra Lee and her husband Myung Guen Lee of Colorado Springs, CO, Doris Capps Temples and her late husband Don Capps, and Brenda Southerland and her husband Jerry of Asheville; eighteen grandchildren, Tim and Diane Pickett, Terry and Bob Jenkins, Melissa Ball and Jeremy, Vallerie and Tommy Lipscomb, Vanessa Ball, Beverly and Larry Murray, Susan and Lewis Hensley, Kathy and Jeff Andrews, David Capps and Jannette, the late Wayne Capps, Chuck and Michelle Dowdy, Jennifer Kreiss, Jon Lee, Philip and Daisy Lee, Chris and Brenda Southerland, Jeff Southerland, Shelly Southerland and Philip Southerland; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Aaron, Lacy, Amy, Heather, Eric, Kristi, Christopher, Kerra, Amber, Garret, Ian, Crystal, Michael, Michelle, Devin, Miranda, Justin, Jessica, Samantha, Alanna, Navarrie and Zebadiah.
She served the lord all her life and was an inspiration to all who met her. She was the sweetest most wonderful mother on earth.
Joint funeral services with her great-grandson, Christian Southerland, will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Sunrise Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Higgins officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
