Fletcher ~ Anthony Wayne Best, 37, of Candor Drive, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 as a result of injuries sustained in an accident. A native of Gaston County, Mr. Best was the son of Robert and Patricia Calhoun Best of Ash, NC. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Best who died in 2000. Mr. Best was employed as an electrical contractor with Trade Master Contracting Co. He was an incredible builder having built gymnasiums, treehouses and forts for children. He was a member of The Rock of Asheville. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Ann House Best; a daughter, Alexandra Best; two sons, Harrison and Bradley Best and a brother, Len Best of Ash, NC A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 PM at The Rock of Asheville with Pastors Kirk Bowman and Mauricio Mercado officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to any branch of First Citizens Bank in order to meet immediate needs of the Best family. Donations may be made in c/o Anthony Best. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

    THIS IS TONY’S COUSIN FORM KINGS MTN N.C. I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT HIS DEATH. MY WHOLE FAMILY IS IN SHOCK. WE DID NOT KNOW. WE HAVE ALSO HAD TRAGEDY STRIKE OUR FAMILY THIS YEAR. WE LOST MY BROTHERS SON IN MAY AND HIS DAUGHTER IN NOV 2004. WE ARE ALL SO VERY SORRY. NO MATTER WHAT FAMILY SQUABBLE WAS AT HAND I WISH PAT HAD LET US KNOW.MY MOM IS VERY FEEBLE AND WHEN I TOLD HER SHE WAS CRUSHED.WE DON’T KNOW WHAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR US AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE ONES THAT TRUST HIM THE MOST HE USES AS EXAMPLES. I KNOW MY BROTHER IS A TESTAMONY TO FAITH AND I’M SURE YOU ARE TOO!MAY YOU STAND FIRM ON YOUR FAITH AND I’M SURE GOD WILL HELP YOU THROUGH. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN AND I PRAY NO MORE GRIEF WILL EVER FALL UPON YOU! GOD MUST REALLY BE PLANNING ABIG EVENT TO TAKE ALL OF THESE PRECIOUS PEOPLE! MAY GOD COMFORT YOU ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE.
