ARLENE WARREN CROWE CANDLER – Arlene Warren Crowe, 72, of Upper Glady Fork Rd., died on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at her residence. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Rufus Andrew and Edith Stewart Warren. She was also preceded in death by brothers Billy Edward Warren, Jack Warren, and by two grandchildren, Devan Donovan Phillips and Kyle Andrew Crowe. Mrs. Crowe was retired from Enka High School, and was a member of Glady Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Albert Crowe; daughters Krista Crowe, Karen Roberts, and Kelly Phillips and husband Tyson, all of Candler; a son, Kevin Crowe and wife Stephanie of Candler; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Wise of Horse Shoe and Loretta Changery of Woodfin; and brothers Bobby Warren of Asheville, Benny Ray Warren of Arden, Danny Warren of Candler, and Dennis Warren of Kernersville. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Glady Baptist Church, with the Reverends Charles Sprinkle, Gerald Sprinkle, and David Grindstaff officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

    Your mother and I graduated from Enka High School the same year. I remember her sweet smile and gentle spirit. I know you will miss her, but you have a strong Faith in the Lord to help you during this time along with many friends and loved ones.

  10. I’m so happy to know that Aunt Arlene is with Jesus today! I can picture her, Nanny and Papaw walking hand in hand together in His presence and I look forward to the day when I can see them all again! I’ll be praying that God can bring you His comfort during this time.

  12. My condolences go out to Albert and family. I attended school with both Albert and Arlene and remember them in their youth. I always remember Arlene as a bright shinning light as she walked through the halls of Enka Hi. I will inform as many of our classmates as I can of Arlene’s passing and I’m sure they will be saddened by this news.
