What a kind and gentle lady, she will be missed by all. My deepest sympathy to all the family.
What a very special and sweet neighbor. She was such an inspiration and joy to talk to. I got tired just listening to all of her adventures and things she was always doing with her friends and family. Will never forget her and enjoyed sitting on her porch talking and crocheting the potholders that she taught me how to do. May God bless all of her family.

To the family:
Arnell touched my life many, many years ago when I held one of my first jobs at Sears. She was so kind to me, spent time teaching me, looking after me and becoming my friend. She attended my wedding and continued to show interest in me long after my time at Sears ended. Arnell knew how to show love and caring for everyone she met…..a quality I admired and influenced me greatly in my own character development. She was truly a special lady and I’m so blessed to have had her handprint on my life.
So sorry to hear of Arnells passing. I remember the days of all of us camping in an old Army tent on an island at Lake James. Some of the best days of my life. She will be truly missed. I am sure that my parents and Don and Arnell are having a big fish fry in heaven right now.
Arnell was like another mother to me. She has been in my life for over 50 years. Arnell always had a smile and a kind word. I will miss you sitting behind me in church. God loves you and you are in his kingdom forever!
William
Like Mary Ann (below), I too met Arnell while working at Sears. I only worked there during Christmas the year I graduated from college but she still made an impression on me and was very kind. I later reconnected briefly with her through one of my coworkers at Carolina Federal who was a member of Abernathy and she was the same kind woman then as well.
