Arthur Joseph "Bud" Michels, 61, of Arden, died on Saturday, April 2, 2016. A native of Traverse City, MI, Bud was a son of Viola Olds Michels and of the late Edward Louis Michels. Bud worked for KDS as a welder. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia Olszewski Michels; daughters, Tina Beatrice-Lee Michels and Julie Michels Frizsell; son, Edward "Moe" Michels; sisters, Judy Paul, Carol Ann Sattler, Edwardean Seiler, and Tammy Kittizmiller; brothers, Edward Michels, II, and Timm Michels; parents-in-law, Joe and Judy Olszewski; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016, at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave. A celebration of Bud's life will be announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Groce Funeral Home, 1401 Patton Ave., Asheville, NC 28806, to assist with the expenses.
