Arthur Bynum Redmon 78, of 103 Ball Gap Rd., Arden, died Sunday, August 10, 2008, at the Oaks of Sweeten Creek. A native of Buncombe Co., Mr. Redmon was a son of the late Preston Fletcher and Stella Bowlin Redmon. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Oneva R. Parker; brothers, Preston Fletcher Redmon, Jr., and Martin Dean Redmon; and a brother-in-law, Mack Parker. Mr. Redmon attended the Venable School before joining the U.S. Air Force, serving in Berlin. He later worked in the Ford factory in Detroit, before returning to Asheville in 1975. He was a member of Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Redmon is survived by his sister, Ruby Faulkner and husband Bruce, of Arden; and nieces, Darlene Landon and husband Larry, Mackalene Sandlin and husband Bill, Suzanne Guinn, Nancy Patton and husband Ronnie, and Judy Rector and husband Roger; four great-nephews, Ryan Landon, Chris Sandlin, Scott Sandlin, and Sean Love and wife Jennifer; and a sister-in-law, Gail Fullam Redmon. A graveside service for Mr. Redmon will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Bridges officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Herman Redmon, Wade Wright, Chris Sandlin, Larry Landon, Therman Redmon, and Ronnie Frady. His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Memorials may be made to the Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Pauline Parker, 42-A Queen Rd., Candler, NC 28715.

I know that you’ll will miss him and it will take awhile for the pain to go away, but the Lord will help you’ll through it. We are here for you’ll if you need us. We will never forget what you’ll did for Mom.
