Arthur Eugene Redmon, 90, of 22 Pine Ridge Road, Asheville, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at his home. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Ivory Henderson Redmon and was also preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers and a granddaughter. He was a charter member of Beaverdam Fire Department, now known as Reems Creek Fire Department and was an auxillary deputy under Sheriff Tom Morrissey. Mr. Redmon worked for Buran Dental Labs for 25 years, retired from Taylor Instruments of Arden and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Rose Smith Redmon; a daughter, Cricket Shelton and her husband Clifford of Beaverdam; two sons, Gene Redmon and his wife Treva of Candler and Billy Redmon and his wife Billie Gail of Beaverdam; a brother, Ronald Redmon of Candler; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Revs. Stan Willett and Dr. Earl Moseley officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis Memorial Park with Carl Redmon, Mike Bustle, James Walker, Harry Pack Ronnie Coats and David Rowe serving as pall bearers. His family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of his daughter, 16 Pine Ridge Road, Asheville, NC 28804. Memorials may be made to Beaverdam Baptist Church, 399 Beaverdam Road, Asheville, NC 28804.
