Arthur K. (Ted) Trexler, 79 of 40 Triple Oak Dr., Candler, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000 in a local
nursing facility.
Born in Emma, he was a son of the late Adam L. and Bessie McFee Trexler. He was one of twelve children and was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty McCall, Legia McPherson and brothers, Charles (Buck), Ernest, Roby, and Howard
Trexler. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran serving in WW II and was a retired employee of Southern Railroad with 43 years of service. He was a 50
year member of Hominy Masonic Lodge #491.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Ledford Trexler; a daughter, Donna Orr and her husband Tommy of Candler; sons, William E. (Bill) Trexler and his wife Gloria of Candler, Robert L. (Rob) Trexler and his wife Melinda of Pasadena, TX; sisters, Nell Morisette and Mary T. Wilson both of Asheville, Rose T. Davis of Arden; brothers, Harold E. Trexler of Asheville and Jack W.Trexler of Candler; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Revs.
Joe Yelton and Rex Collins will officiate with burial following in Pisgah View Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
