Asheville~ Arthur M. Lytle, 71, of Asheville, died Sunday, November, 14, 2010 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals.
A native of Fairview, he was a son of the late Irene N. and Charles Lytle. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Lytle.
Arthur was a veteran of the US Air Force and was the owner of Black Mountain Heating.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Patricia Rule Lytle; three daughters, Lauren Lytle of Arden, Kris Mann and her husband, Thomas, of Arden and Kaye Lytle of Trinity, NC; one adopted daughter, Marcia; two brothers, Martin Lytle of Fairview and Larry Lytle of Winston Salem, NC; one sister, Evelyn Moore of Fairview; seven grandchildren; 1 great-grandson, Chayce and his cat, Precious.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the chapel of Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain with the Rev. Tony Moreau officiating. The family will receive friends one half hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association Development Department, 27001 Agouva Rd, Ste 250, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
Pat and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Arthur was a good man and an excellent friend. Of all the years I have known him, I could always call him my friend. He loved his family deeply and his grandchildren. He will be missed deeply by all whose lives he touched.
Pat and Family: We are sorry for the loss of Arthur. Ronnie has known Arthur for years and enjoyed spending time with him and also working with him. He will be missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I only knew your father through our work together but it seemed he was a real gentleman and very family oriented.You always spoke so lovingly of him. I am so sorry for your loss. A precious friend you and your family are giving up and my condolences extend to each of you.
I wish I could be there tomorrow but I have a previous appointment at 9:30 am. Cory is going to a new school and he and I will be meeting the staff and getting everything situated.
