Artis A. Bush Sr.

Artis A. Bush Sr., 81, of 67 Monte Vista Terrace, Candler, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000 at the VA Medical Center. A native of Sevier County, TN, and resident of of NC for most of his llfe, he was a son of the late George and Mattie Fox Bush and was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. He was a US Army veteran of WW II, and a member of the D.A.V. and V.F.W. Post #891. He is survived by his wife, Mary Harris Bush; sons, Steven K. Bush of Etowah, Artis Bush Jr. of Candler; sisters, Cleta Greenwood of Asheville, Mary Tate of Canton; brothers, Buford Bush of Sandy Springs, SC, Herbert Bush of White Marsh, MD; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Bush. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am Monday at the Western North Carolina Veterans Cemetery. His family will receive friends 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
