Atlas Crain Anderson, 93, of 34 Covington St., Asheville, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Unicoi County, TN, and was a daughter of the late Lattie R. and Martha Edwards Crain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Craig T. Anderson, who died in 1968, a daughter, Helen A. Maney, and by two sisters, Dullie Edwards, Pansy Mashburn and a brother Floyd Crain. Mrs. Anderson was a baker with the Asheville City Schools and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Tony Anderson and his wife, Linda, of Candler; a son-in-law, Fred Maney; four grandchildren, Mike Maney, Mark Maney and his wife, Kim, Michelle Rice and her husband, Ed, and Amy Rutledge and her husband Greg; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verna Edwards of Jonesborough, TN and Luecita Harris of Flag Pond, TN; and a brother, Paul Crain of Erwin, TN.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Claude Surrett and Ed Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
