Avangelean Robinson Wheeler, 88, of Upper Glady Fork Road, died Friday, December 27, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Wheeler was born in the Bethel section of Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Vert and Lena Marie Gaddy Robinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Wheeler and several siblings.
Mrs. Wheeler retired after 45 years with American Enka and she was a long time member of White Rock Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathy W. Edwards and a grandson, Robert Warren Edwards.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at White Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and request memorials be made to White Rock Baptist Church.

My mother, Helen Burrell, worked with your mom at American Enka and thought so much of her. Mama always said,’ Vangie is a real good woman and a real worker.’ My Mama isn’t able to send this condolence nor attend the funeral but wanted to let the family know how much she thought of your mother. May God give you peace in knowing she’s in a much better place now.
