Barbara Ann Morse

barbara morse
Barbara Craft Morse, 76, of Asheville, passed away on January 7, 2015. Though she grew up and lived most of her life in St. Louis, MO, she was able to move to North Carolina over 6 years ago to be close to family. She was born July 19, 1938 to the late Ed and Ruth Craft. Having retired as marketing director from Our Lady of Life retirement center in St. Louis, Barbara also had pursued her passions of photography and travel over her adult life – she had an independent spirit with a zest for life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Ray Craft and her son, Lucius B. Morse IV. She is survived by her son, Todd B. Morse and his wife Melinda and her grandsons, Tristan and Ethan Morse. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Pulliam Chapel of Givens Estates, 2360 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803. Per her wishes, there will also be a private, immediate family memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations in her honor to either CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813 or to Lake Lure Classical Academy (LLCA) to support the construction of a new school for her grandchildren, PO Box 6, Lake Lure, NC 28746. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

Guestbook

  1. Barb and I met at a painting class a few years ago and fast became friends. She was a very talented artist and photographer. She was amazed I liked to be as adventurist as much as she did. I’ll cherish our friendship.

  2. Barb was my best friend in High School. Also we worked together at Grove/BristolMyers. We spend many hours together which I will always remember fondly.

  3. Barb was a good friend and classmate through the years in Webster Groves. I am most sorry that I did not know she had moved so close to my home in Brevard. I would have really enjoyed catching up on life’s events and happenings in St. Louis.
