Baylus Javon “Jim” Ward, 85, formerly of West Street and Vanderbilt Apartments, Asheville, died Wednesday, October 3, 2001.
Mr. Ward was a native of Rutherford County and was a son of the late Baylus L. and Pearl Keeter Ward. He was married to Ethel Bass Ward who died in 1995. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was employed as a watchman at the Buncombe County landfill.
He is survived by one sister-in-law, Frances Ward of Indian Trail, NC and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Friday at Ashelawn Gardens with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
