Beadie was a woman of deep faith and strong determination. She believed that you could accomplish anything with faith in God, and hard work. She also valued education as a tool to help one get ahead in life. She instilled these values in her children and grandchildren. She also demonstrated these beliefs in her own life.

She was employed for 15 years with the Buncombe County Health Department’s Family Planning.

Retiring in her seventies, she traveled the world extensively, built a new house while in her 80’s and lived by herself until age 95. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, politics and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Charles Sr., son Phillip Charles Jr., brothers Bud and CB Barnwell, sisters Marie Stallings, Ruby Barnwell, and Margaret Ford.

Surviving are her four children; Jeanne McClure (Dale) of Hilton Head Island, SC, Thomas Morgan (Jacque) of Waynesville, NC, David Morgan (Nancy) of Port Orchard, WA, Debi Brown (Harry) of Fairview, NC, and daughter-in-law Sharon Morgan of Adrian, MI.
