Etowah – Rebecca "Becky" Holcombe Parris, 58, of Etowah, NC passed away peacefully at her home Monday, June 23, 2014 after a battle with cancer. She was born May 23, 1956, the daughter of the late Herbert H. Holcombe and Mary Elizabeth Zachary Ferguson. Becky was a lifelong resident of the Asheville/Hendersonville area, graduating from Asheville High School in 1974. She was a long time employee of Ingles Markets, and in recent years, with her husband, Mike, operated an independent Pepperidge Farm delivery route. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister that relished time spent with family. She was the happiest at her Etowah home with her beloved husband Mike, playing with her grandchildren, or decorating for the Holidays. Becky especially enjoyed her "Sisters Weekend", a yearly getaway with her six sisters. She will be missed greatly by family and friends. Becky is survived by her husband, Michael "Mike" Dane Parris of Etowah; daughter, Trina Miller Cone and her husband, Sam; grandchildren, Darden and Wortham Cone, all of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her six sisters; Marie Constance and husband, Sam of Columbus, NC, June Brendle of Asheville, Linda Adams and husband, James of Hendersonville, Kit Robertson and husband, Tommy of Asheville, Jackie Coulby and husband, Bill of Arden, Gwen Holcombe of Fletcher and many many nieces, nephews and brother and sister-in-laws. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, June 27, 2014 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor Arthur Riddle officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
