Benjamin Alfred Morgan of Arden went to the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2009. He was born December 25, 1922, the son of the late Charlie and Nancy (Nanny Belle) Morgan of the Laurel Springs Community in Fairview. Benjamin Morgan was retired from the Job Corps in Brevard and was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Ann Summey Morgan and had four daughters, Joyce, Brenda, Debra and Wayma. He had four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. His family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road. A graveside service will be at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher at 11:00 am Tuesday with the Rev. Scott Lynch presiding.

  4. I am very sad to hear and read of the tragedies which this family has suffered. I know Joyce and Wayma, have met Ann and Benjamin.

    I remember Wayma very well. She was such a sweet, pretty girl. And of course I remember Joyce with great fondness, and lots of memories.

    I hope that the passage of time heals some of your sadness, you survivors, that you find at least some of the peace that passes all understanding.
