Benjamin Michael “Mike” Hawthorn, 74, of Asheville, died Friday, September 16, 2022 at Mission Hospital.
A native of Monroe, LA, he was a son of the late Jesse James Hawthorn and Sarah Elizabeth Granger Hawthorn. Mike was also preceded in death by his wife Donna Hawthorn who died February 26, 2022.
Mike was a pilot, loved to golf and traveled all over the country working on pumps.
He is survived by two sons, Nathan Hawthorn of Asheville and Benjamin Micah Hawthorn of Jackson Hole, WY.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike, selling pumps and industrial supplies for Machinery and Equipment Co. in Asheville for several years. Mike was so very smart and conscientious about his work. We will be praying for the entire family during this time for peace and comfort that only God can provide. We will miss you Mike.
