Mills River~ Benny Earl Graham, 63, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Charles George VA Medical Center. Benny was a native of Buncombe County and was a son of the late Clyde McKinley and Betty Hawes Graham. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam and retired from the NC State University Mountain Horticultural Crops Research Station after thirty years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Linda Moore Graham, a son, Barry E. Graham and his wife, Jennifer of Huntersville, two brothers, Darryl Graham of Arden and Ted Graham of Weaverville, two sisters, Joyce Maney and Cheri Baker both of Arden, three granddaughters, Katelyn, Madison and Hailey. Benny is also survived by Michaela and Caleb Baker known to them as their "Uncle B.B." which they loved very much. Funeral services for Benny will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor Ric Toney officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. He always had such a remarkable sense of humor and was a true friend. He loved his family and was so proud of the Grand Daughters. The world was a better place because of Benny. Much love to you all.
