Guestbook

  1. We were so shocked and sad to read the notice in this morning’s paper. We often thought of him and wondered why we hadn’t heard from him for so long. He was a dear friend for many years and we will never forget that he was there for us when we had to make arrangements for our daughter’s funeral just 22 years ago tomorrow.
Our sincere sympathy to the family.

  2. My deepest sympathy and condolences go to the family of Mr. Bernice Shell Jr. It is a very sad time when we lose someone we love. And when that happens the thought of not being able to be near them again seems very difficult to deal with. I know because when my mother died I experienced similar feelings but what helped to ease some of the pain was knowing the Bible’s promise at Psalms 37:9-11 about our loved ones. May these words be of comfort to you and your family during this difficult time.

    Deepest Sympathy,
    Ms. Floyd

  3. Nancy, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please find comfort in your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

  4. To Nancy and the Shell Family,
Our love and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Knowing Bernie for only a short time as a neighbor and friend, he will always be in our fondest memories and hearts.

  6. Nancy and Susie,

On behalf of the Houston Alumni Organization, I send my heartfelt condolences.

I saw Bernie at a Cougar basketball game and he was telling me that he was moving back to Houston. I told him to give me a call so we could get him involved. I was so saddened to receive Betty Lemmon’s call this morning.

Please let me know if there is anything I or HAO can do.

    Warmest regards,

    Steve Hall

  7. Nancy and Suzy, I was so sad to see the news about Bernie this morning. I cannot begin to imagine how hard this for you and your family. Bernie always seemed like such a wonderful and caring person. Maria and I will remember you in our prayers. We take some comfort knowing that there are many good people in Asheville, like our friend James Banks, who are there for you.

  8. Nancy & Susie,

We am deeply saddend to learn of Bernie’s passing. He was such a great guy. We have many fond memories of visiting with him (bitch sessions) at Cougar basketball and football games over the years. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  9. Nancy I won’t pretend to know what you’re going thru but I do know that ‘Our Lord’ has now taken Bernie’s hand and everything is going to be ok. I enjoyed helping the two of you so very much from time to time. I want you to know that I will be here if you need me. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

  10. Dear Nancy and Family. We were so saddened to learn of Bernie’s passing. We first met him in 1965 in Corpus Christi, Tx. We have had the privilege of calling him ‘Great Friend’ for about 37 years. We regret not being able to visit you two in Asheville last year. We will truly miss him and his wonderful sense of humor.
