Bertha Glatti Cosby

Born in Louisville, KY, she moved to Florida in 1912 and became a lifelong resident. Beginning in the mid 1930's she began summering in Western North Carolina and in 1981 moved to Highlands, NC, where she maintained a home until 1997.

She and her husband opened the first realty office in Deerfield Beach in 1935. They were instrumental in developing Deerfield Beach in its early history and in 1944 they donated the land and were founding members of Community Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Cosby, Sr., who died in 1965; three sisters, Betty Whitney, Sue Anderson, and BArbara Morrison; three brothers, Frank, Bill and Carl Glatti.

She is survived by her son, David H . Cosby, Jr. and his wife Michelle of North Carolina; a granddaughter, Stephanie Cosby and her husband Gary Brown of North Carolina; her brother, John Glatti and his wife Thelma of Florida; her sister Mattie Foster and her husband Norman of New York; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 1, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Deerfield Beach.
