Bertsie Brigg Dotson

March 3, 1904 ~ November 6, 1998

Funeral services for Bertsie Dotson will be at 3:00 pm Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Fletcher, NC, with the Revs. Fred Wardrup and Randy Waugh officiating. Burial will be at Tweeds Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Dotson was born in Yancey County, NC, and was a daughter of the late William Sherman and Winnie Higgins Brigg. She was married to John H. Dotson who died in 1981, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Winnie Frances Souther and a son, Harry Dotson.

She is survived by four daughters, Willie M. Wilson, Helen Desma Young, Barbara D. Peterson, and Jean D. Thomas; three sons, John B. Dotson, William Sherman Dotson, and Rothy Wilburn Dotson; a sister, Minnie Lou Young; 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
