Bessie Mae Robinson, 79, of Crowell Farm Road, Asheville, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Jackson County and was a daughter of the late June and Etta Raines Jamison. She was married to George B. Robinson who died in 1993 and was also preceded in death by a sister, Isabelle Womack and a brother, Fred Jamison.
She attended worhip services at The Dwelling Place Worship Center and was a volunteer with the Asheville VA Medical Center Ministry, the Hendersonville Prison Ministry, and the Candler House of Prayer Street Ministry.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Tony Freeman of Asheville; one brother, Harry Jamison of Miami, FL; two grandchildren, Joseph Shelton and Andrea Shelton of Asheville; one great-grandson, Shawn Robinson of Asheville, and one step-granddaughter, Kayla Freeman of Asheville.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Wade and Gwen Hall officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
