Betsy Burrell Knighten, 75, of 13 Durham Street, Asheville, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at St. Joseph Campus.
Mrs. Knighten was born in Union, SC, and was a daughter of the late Boyd and Minnie Gault. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James O. Burrell. She was retired from J&S Cafeteria and attended Inanda Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Knighten; a daughter, Linda Melton and son-in-law Russell H. Melton of Asheville; a son, James A. Burrell and his wife Judy Burrell of Asheville; a step-son Randy Knighten and his wife Alicia Knighten of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, Scott Melton and his wife Nena, Jennifer Burrell, and Aaron Burrell; and a great-grandson Brayden Knupp.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Roland officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
