Betty Ann Coleman Rambin
December 19, 1931 ~ August 20, 2024
Born in:
Summerville, Louisiana
Resided in:
Asheville, NC
Betty Ann Rambin, 92, left this world for her eternal heavenly home on August 20, 2024. Due to an irreversible illness and multiple hospitalizations, she was decidedly enrolled in the Four Seasons Hospice Program where she was lovingly and attentively cared for by her two daughters, Donna Rambin and Sherry Rambin in their home. Before retiring, Sherry was a multifaceted RN for 42 years. Donna learned quickly all the skills needed to care for someone with failing health before and during Betty’s hospice status. Her daughters felt such an honor and privilege to care for their Mother in her most intimate times of need. Four Seasons generously provided everything needed in supplies, equipment, medications, nursing, and CNA visits.
Betty Rambin had the brave strength and heart of a lion and the gentleness of a lamb. She was drawn to anyone in need and made great strides and efforts to fill those needs. What Betty did not have available, she would reach out to her many resources to accomplish the tasks at hand.
Betty’s husband was a full-time Baptist minister and an IRS agent during the majority of their 52 years of marriage. She worked alongside her husband within his many different churches which required her to be exposed to and acclimate to not only the demands of a pastor’s wife, and willingly worked alongside the church’s membership.
Betty also worked independently as the Office Manager for an extremely busy Dermatologist in Shreveport, Louisiana. For 17 years, seeing up to 70 patients per day and overseeing up to 20 employees, Betty managed to balance her own work schedule with her home life and the duties of their churches.
There were four things that Betty was known for and fondly remembered by many. She had an enormous sense of humor, was always a ton of fun, pulled the best pranks on people, and she loved fishing. Actually, she could out fish anyone. Her husband was not a fisherman but accompanied her only a few times just to appease her. Living on a large lake in Shreveport, she had a few boats, but her favorite was her pontoon fishing boat. She had it rigged so she could spend really long hours fishing without ever coming home. One particular outing, her preacher husband confessed that he made a request to God to please let him miraculously walk on water, just that one time, because that was the only way he could get back home. Request was denied. But they enjoyed a huge fish dinner the next day.
In 1990, Betty developed a very rare form of cancer that was ever documented by only 2% of the population. There was no treatment nor cure and her doctors sent her home on strong pain meds with an estimated 6-12 months to live. Her husband made phone calls around the world seeking help from anyone, but no doctor or medical treatment was available nor proven. So her husband and daughters turned to the only Healer who WAS available. God the Great Physician miraculously healed her nine months later which left the doctors and any unbelievers baffled AND a believer. Betty was then invited by many different churches to give her personal testimony of healing and the journey she made to find it. As a result, she became a living witness to the greatness of our God.
Betty has lived a fulfilling life, primarily in service to others. Those who knew her will never forget her and for all the right reasons. God healed her of that particular cancer, but at the age of 92, she developed a different disease and He has called her home. One day when it’s our turn, we will join her there.
Her favorite scripture was found in Proverbs 3: 5-6. It says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths”.
She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Jena, La. No plans for a funeral service at this time. If you wish to make a donation in memory of her, she supported ABCCM in Asheville or you may donate in her memory to the charity of your choice.

Sherry & Donna,
I’m praying for your peace and comfort, as you adjust to the great loss of your dear mother. It was a blessing for her to be so lovingly cared for in her home by both of you. I’m glad that you two have the precious memories of that difficult yet sacred time, as she made her departure to heaven. May your lifetime of joyous memories in better times sustain you. Much love. Cherry
When my daddy died my mother became somewhat of a recluse. Ii took care of my sister and we made it all work. But I wondered as I got older who would take care of me. You’d be right if you said Mama Rambin. With all she did for hundreds of others she watched over me. I became somewhat of a “rebel “ and this wonderful and beautiful woman kept me focused and motivated me.
Thank you Mama Rambin for giving me that special nudge and for loving me. I’ll see you again one day. Much love,
Angie Wilson-Sebbo
Sherry and Donna,
My most vivid memories of your Mother are of the times I spent the night at your home. Every night, without fail, there was always a time for family Bible Study in the evening. And I remember your dog “Cindy”. All of you convinced me she wore contacts and I believe your Mom was more than likely the instigator!!
Such sweet memories I was blessed to share with your family. ❤️
Blessings to you all. Your mom must have been a loving delight! She had a good life and raised a wonderful family. May your memories comfort you all.
Sherry and Donna…you were all 3 so blessed to have each other. May God embrace you with his peace and give you comfort and strength.
RIP Aunt Betty Ann.
We thank the Lord that we were blessed with the opportunity to make friends this side of Heaven with Betty. She was a precious soul and awesome human being that never met a stranger. She raised two wonderful daughters that have also been a blessing to us and so many more. Our hearts and prayers are with you all. And now, we’ll look forward to Betty’s sweet face and Spirit again on the other side of Heaven.

Dear Sherry & Donna
Rambin Family
I hope this letter finds you surrounded by love and comfort, even in this difficult time. My heart aches as I write to you, knowing the deep pain you’re experiencing after the transition of your mother, Ms. Betty. Please know that my family and I are holding you close in our thoughts and prayers.
From the moment we became neighbors, you and your family have been a constant source of kindness and warmth. Ms. Betty was a truly remarkable person whose generosity and spirit touched everyone around. Her smile and genuine care for others were a light in our community, and it’s hard to imagine our neighborhood without them. We remember when we first moved in, a few days later she came over with her famous biscuits and jam; such hospitality was such a joy to see. From that day on she has always been one the sweetest person I have ever known.
We will always cherish the memories we shared—whether it was the laughter over a friendly chat, the support during challenging times, or the simple joy of being in each other’s company. Ms. Betty had a way of making everyone feel special and loved, and that legacy will live on in our hearts.
During these moments of grief, please remember that you are not alone. If there is anything we can do to help—whether it’s a meal, a listening ear, or simply a moment of quiet company—please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here for you, just as you have always been there for us.
May God grant you the strength and peace you need to get through each day. I believe Ms. Betty is watching over you, smiling, and still sharing that incredible light with all of us.
With deepest sympathy and love,
