Betty Ann Keeter Merrell, 80, of Asheville, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024.

A native of Henderson Co., Betty Ann was a daughter of the late Henry and Lottie Keeter. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Israel, Bonnie West and Cathie Keeter.

Surviving is her husband, Samuel Wayne Merrell; daughters, Sandra Banks (Tony), Janet Watson (Lloyd) and Tammy Tallent (Randy); grandchildren, Christopher Watson, Tessa Banks Carter (Bronson), Cameron Haydock (Tiffany) and Hannah Dietrich (Reese); great-grandchildren, Michael David Carter and Jude Haydock; and a sister, Margaret Soulsby.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7 in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Mr. Lloyd Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Emma’s Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
