Betty B. Tedder, 87, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022.

A native of Chesterfield Co., SC, Betty was a daughter of the late Raymond Leroy and Loueva Adams Knight. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Milton Ray Tedder.

Betty is survived by her son, Ray Tedder, Jr., daughter-in-law Angie and grandson Brennan. She is also survived by her sister Doris Jean Knight, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Frances Mason, Ethel May Black, Shirley Lee McSwain, and brother, Raymond Leroy Knight, Jr.

Mrs. Tedder was a Christian and prior to her failing health, she attended Independence Hill Baptist Church, Huntersville, NC. She also worked and retired from Marriott Food Services in Charlotte, NC and was an avid dog lover.

Mrs. Tedder’s family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, at the Groce Funeral Home located at 856 Tunnel Rd, Asheville, NC. The funeral service will immediately follow at the chapel at Groce Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Duckworth will officiate.

A brief interment will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Cemetery, 886 Russ Ave., Waynesville, NC at approximately 4:30pm on Sun 24th with dinner and a celebration of life following at Sagebrush Steakhouse directly across from the cemetery.

  1. We are so sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. She was a real sweet and wonderful lady. We really enjoyed her friendship when we lived in The Glen at Highland Creek. I loved playing Bunco with her. She was a special friend.
