Betty Jean Crouch Mitchell, 87, of Fairview, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Monday, January 16, 2017. Betty was a successful business woman owning Crouch Mitch House Movers, Mitch Contracting, and Betty Mitchell Rentals. She was the daughter of the late G.E. Crouch and Adalaide Matlock Crouch. Preceding her in death was her husband, Lawrence "Mitch" Mitchell, her three beloved sons, Gary, Michael, and Emory Mitchell, and brother Dr. G.E. Crouch, Jr. Betty is survived by six grandchildren: Leslie Lancaster and husband Pat, of Hendersonville, Lisa Cabe and husband Wayne, of Fletcher, Dennis Mitchell and wife Tara, of Fairview, Emory Mitchell, Jr. and wife Jatana, of Mill Spring, Tracy McCurry and husband Phil, of Weaverville, and Morgan Butler and husband Josh, of Denver, NC; 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; and a very special caregiver, Cindy Emile. A private graveside service will be held at Green Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorials be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  4. I will miss Betty. She was a best friend of my cousin Clara Brekus. We all three loved to go to Roger Rector’s Auction. When I was a kid me and my grandpa Henry Ingle worked for her father, old man Crouch. I would mix concrete and grandpa would lay blocks under houses Crouch had moved. Bruce Whitaker
