Signal Mountain, TN – Betty Lee Sluder Hall, 92, of Signal Mountain, TN, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Alexian Village. Born on May 13, 1932, in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Denver Sluder and Lucille Brooks Sluder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Eugene Hall, Sr., a brother, James Denver (JD) Sluder, Jr. as well as a sister, Jeanne Sluder Mulvaney.

A graduate of Leicester High School in Leicester, NC, she was a member of the winning 1951 Buncombe Co. Basketball Championship team. Betty was an active choir member at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville for more than 50 years. Betty worked for Henderson County Social Services for many years but her most beloved job was being a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Betty had the most beautiful voice and singing was her passion. Whether she was singing in the church choir or just washing the dishes, her voice was the soundtrack of our childhood. She said God put a song in her heart and she freely shared that melody of love with others.

Survivors include her brother Robert (Bob) Sluder Asheville, NC, sons Gene, Philip and his wife Amy and grandsons Cooper and his wife Hannah Hall, great granddaughter Macey of Easley, SC. and Carter Hall Scottsdale, AZ; daughter Angela Kindiger and husband David Kindiger, granddaughters Caroline Kindiger, Grace Clift and husband Josh, great granddaughter Olive, great-grandson Gideon; Denver Kindiger and wife Lydia, great-grandson due 4/28/2025; Luke Kindiger, Hope Kindiger, Claire Kindiger, Faith Kindiger and Joshua Kindiger. Son Eric Hall, wife Michele, grandsons Thomas, Stephen of Atlanta, GA.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor Steve Scoggins officiating. The Service will be streamed live beginning at 1:50 PM by clicking the link just below the obituary text. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park.
