Betty Virginia Frady Cole, 78, of 78 Cole Road, Leicester, died Friday, February 6, 2004, at Memorial Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late James Robert Frady, Sr. and Nellie Trull Frady and was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cole, Jr., who died in 1980 and by seven sisters and one brother. A graduate of Candler High School, class of 44, she was retired from Square D and a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cole is survived by a daughter, Clara Ruth Cole Hulon and her husband Ronald of Laurinburg, NC; a son, Troy Vernon Cole and his wife Cindy of Leicester; a sister, Vera Fulcher of Candler; five grandchildren, Joe Cole, Marc Fender, Jason Fender, Chad Davie and Crystal Frasure and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3:30 pm Sunday at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and request that memorials be made to Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, 525 Old US Hwy 19-23, Candler, NC 28715.
I will miss my phone conversations with Virginia and I will treasure my many memories of her.

Oh Troy, I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother. Betty and I use to work together in subassembly, gp. 183. We’ve had some good laughs at times together. I remember our trips to the Coles when I was just a youngester. I know my parents enjoyed the friendship of the Coles for many years.
