Beverly Griffin Fish, 75, of Asheville, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Lucille Griffin. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Angela Miller.
Beverly began as a business professional in banking and manufacturing. She worked hard to improve her skills and advanced from receptionist to industrial engineer. She went on to obtain a NC Broker's license and began a career in real estate, then moved on to property management for the last 25 years. Beverly had a unique ability to communicate with people from all walks of life and was an advocate for justice and a help to those in need. She developed many lasting friendships throughout her life, both in and out of the workplace.
Beverly is survived by one daughter, Lisa Childs and her husband, Walt, of Fletcher and their children, Emma and Claire; one son, John Mills and his wife, Caryn, of Mills River and their children, Kippan and Jackson; one brother, James McGlasson and his wife, Nancy; one nephew, Jamie McGlasson, as well as one niece, Meg Coxie and her daughter, Emily.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. A private family service will be held at a later date for Beverly's ashes.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made, either monetary or non-monetary to CarePartners Hospice Thrift Store, where Beverly served as a volunteer for several years. Their address is 105 Fairview Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
