Beverly Steele Chism, 74, of Asheville, died Monday, July 13, 2015, at the John F. Keever Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mildred Williams Steele. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Arnold Chism, daughter, Karen Chism, and son, Douglas Chism.
Mrs. Chism is survived by her daughter, Kathy Chism; son, Charles Chism; daughter-in-law, Shannah Chism; grandchildren, Kirstie Collins, Aerial Austin, and Kaeghan Austin; brother, Oscar Steele; her beloved pets and special family friend James Rasper.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m a neighbor of Beverly’s two houses down and she will be missed. My 4 year old loved her so much, she would run outside to talk about what fancy things she was wearing whenever she would walk past the house and of course to see the dogs.
