Blanche Ingle Austin, 89, formerly of 110 Ferry Road, Asheville, died Tuesday, December 26, 2000 in a local nursing facility.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late James Walter and Juanita King Ingle. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ulysses T. Austin who died in 1985. Mrs. Austin was a member of Bent Creek Baptist Church where she sang for many years with the Church Quartet - “Camp Meeting Four” and sang as a duet with Mrs. Flonnie Bailey. She retired from the Biltmore Employees lunch room.
Her survivors include her daughter and son-in- law, Ethel and Jack Faulkner; grandson and his wife, Rick and Cindy Faulkner; two great- grandsons, Jason and Johnathan Faulkner; a sister, Mildred Bailey all of Asheville; brothers Ernest Ingle of Asheville and Ralph Ingle of Tuxedo, NC.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Revs. G. H. Shope and Cecil Fox will officiate with burial following in Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

I remember when Blanche use to ride with Willena to my house to attend our ‘Slender Benders’ diet club. She was one of our faithful supporters of this fun group. I have nice memories of Blanche. I extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family.
I am the sister and sister-in-law of Helen and Ralph Ingle. Blanche was a dear, kind lady. My sympathy to all her family.
