Blanche Jervis, 89, died Friday, May 28, 1999, at the Rickman Nursing Center of the Western
Carolina Baptist Home.

Miss Jervis was born in
Madison County and was a daughter of the late Elisha D. and Callie Payne Jervis.  She received BS and Masters Degrees from Western Carolina
University and taught in various public schools for 40 years, 16 of which were in Concord.  She was a member of the NCAE and a former Red Cross
volunteer.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheville.

She is survived by a sister, Edith J. Patterson of Sanford;  three
nieces, Brenda Harrill of Sanford, Lynda Phillips of Winston-Salem, and Marilyn Walker of Aberdeen;  and a nephew, J.Daniel Patterson of
Candler.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral home with the Rev. Fred Duckett officiating. Burial will be at Maple Springs
Cemetery in Swain County.

Her family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the
service.the Western Carolina Baptist Retirement Home, 213 Richmond Hill Drive, Asheville, NC 28806.
