Blondine Luther Snyder, 84, of 350 Pritchard Road, Candler, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Andrews, NC, on December 17, 1918, to the late William and Berta Piercy Luther. She was married to William Jack Snyder on July 1, 1952, and they spent most of their married life in Asheville and Candler where Jack was employed by Southern Railway prior to his death on September 22, 1992. They were members of Edgewood Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry Hilton Luther of Asheville. Blondine is survived by a brother, Col. (Ret) Leon Clinton Luther and his wife Grace of Chester, VA; two nephews, Harry R. Luther and his wife Verlyn of Clemmons, NC and Stephen N. Luther of Candler; a niece, Susan Luther Hernandez and her husband Alex of Pasadena, CA and many other relatives. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Charles Shelton of Edgewood Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue prior to the service. Flowers may be delivered to the funeral home or memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity in honor of Mrs. Snyder.
