Bobbie Jane Murray Whitted, 89, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024.

A native of Haywood Co., Bobbie was a daughter of the late Lebo and Gladys Stamey Murray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Dr. James H. Whitted.

Mrs. Whitted was a true warrior of the faith as she spent many years, alongside her husband Jim, serving as missionaries in various parts of the world and pastored in the local area during the later years of their ministry.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Whitted; son, Harold Whitted (Daphne); grandchildren, Aundrea, Julie and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jayden, Dayvonn, Kenzie and Kiley; and brother, Jimmy Bruce Murray.

Her family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, at Trinity Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at noon at the church. The Revs. Allen Rash, Keith Hutchinson, Rick Gibson and Winston Parrish will officiate. A graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler, will follow.

  2. I certainly will miss my sweet friend Bobbie! We spent lots of time on the phone and in her home talking, laughing, and crying. I always knew I could count on her to pray for me. She was so precious to me. I sure will miss your witty personality. I am so thankful this is not the end! See you soon my friend I loved so much! Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15 Prayers and love to this precious family!

  3. With loving memory of Bobbie. My prayers of comfort go to all the family at this time of sorrow. We served the Lord together in Scotland.

  4. Bobbie will truly be missed but we will see her again very soon. Just a great example of Christ.The love she had,her faith and patience I could go on.She was a wonderful sister in law. I remember will the she took care of our mother who was very ill at the time and nursed her back to health.She was Gods servant. Our love and prayers to our family. The ultimate reunion is not far away.

  5. Bobbie was such a blessing to me as she and Jim served the Lord in Edinburgh. She was so faithful to the Lord and very spiritually wise. She gave me lots of good advice and lots of encouragement in my Christian faith. She was a true friend and will always be remembered. She was faithful to the Lord and such a blessing. What a wonderful testimony and is now with the Lord. She will be greatly missed.
