Bobby E. Anderson, 83, died Saturday, September 2, 2017, at his residence. A native of Asheville, he was a son of the late George Washington and Ava Lee English Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Judith Worthington Anderson, who passed away in 2015; brother, Blake Anderson; and sister, Sara Williams. Mr. Anderson served during the Korean conflict with the US Marine Corps. He worked for Trailways Bus Lines for 24 years, both as a driver and primary classroom instructor until 1982. At that time he purchased a tractor trailer and spent the rest of his career as an owner/operator trucker. He was a Master Mason and member of the Mt. Herman Masonic Lodge. He attended Frontline Church. Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter, Amy Anderson; son, Andy Anderson (Sabrina); and grandchildren, Julie Anderson, Bobby Anderson and Skylar Gulley. The funeral service for Mr. Anderson will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Pastor Barbara Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday one hour prior to the service.   1. Just as Judy was a gracious, wonderful lady, Bob was one of the finest men we’ve known. We didn’t get to see him much but he will be missed greatly.
