Bobby Lee Stamey

A native of Haywood County, he is the son of Elsie Wright Barnes of Swannanoa and the late William Otis Stamey. He is retired from the US Army where he served in Germany, Korea and Vietnam.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Helen Grace Stamey of Spartanburg; a sister, Louise O’Neil of Cruso; a half sister, Barbara Harmon of Asheville; a daughter, Patsy S. Yates of Spartanburg; four sons, James Robert Stamey of Asheville, Larry Stamey, Billy Dean Stamey, and Bobby Gene Stamey, all of Spartanburg; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 12 noon, Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with Chaplain Ralph L. Reed officiating.

His family will receive friends from 11:00 - 11:30 am Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
