Son of the late Henry and Nola Tipton Thomas, Bobby Thomas is survived by many children, first born being Betty Ann Thomas, Dicky R. Thomas, Debbie Sue Thomas and
James Henry Thomas from late first
wife Betty J. Hyatt. He will be missed very much and loved always.
Bobby Thomas, 70, of 112 Arnold Road, Asheville, died Friday, January 7, 2005, at Magnolia Health Care.
A native of Erwin, TN, he was a son of the late Henry and Nola Tipton Thomas. He was a retired power lineman and is survived by a son, Bobby thomas, Jr. and his family of Asheville and a brother, Donald Thomas and his family of Asheville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

I am the wife of Bobby’s son James Henry Thomas. We have a daughter who will be turning 13 this year.
I wish Kristina and Bobby could of gotten to know one another. Just like her grandfather, she too is strong. It’s in the DNA.

Bobby Thomas was my ganddaddy! He lived with me on 112 Arnold RD. I always loved hearing his stories about his life. He loved going to the river and fishing. I miss him so much but im glad that he is gone because i know that he is in heaven. He was always there for me and i love him so much he was a great man.

Bobby Thomas was my grandfather. I never got to meet him but my mom tells me that he was a very powerful man in his younger days. He also was quite the ladies man and was a good looking man, and in his last years a gentle lamb. I heard a lot of stories about him and I love him because he was my grandfather. I know you are walking with GOD now Grandfather and most likely trying to run the show so you and Granny hyatt(betty jean) tell everyone that we are here still walking on this earth because of you and granny creating my mom (betty ann) and I love you for that. Bobby Thomas you were one of a kind and when GOD made you he broke the mold until I was born. Need I say more. I love you and always will. You are in GOD’S KINGDOM now so no one can hurt you any more. I know you suffered for a long time and the time of YOUR suffering is over because you are home now and that is all that matters to me. You will always be remembered and loved on this earth until every last person that has your DNA is gone. The time of your life here on earth was a well lived life and with many adventures and I know you were ready to be with your loved ones whom are already there, so walk on brother and I will see you one of these old days.
