Brenda Gail Stirewalt, of 72 Blake Drive, Arden, died Monday, February 20, 2006, at her home. Miss Stirewalt was born in Buncombe County and was preceded in death by her parents, Charles P. Stirewalt, Sr., and Dessie Bryson Stirewalt. She was a member of Arden Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her step-mother, Catherine Gregg Stirewalt; three sisters, Shannon Jackson and her husband, Darin, of Asheville, Sherry Shuford and her husband, Rick, of Hickory, and Charla Parks and her husband, Paul, of Lynchburg, VA; one brother, Shawn P. Stirewalt and his wife, Pam, of Arden, an uncle, Clarence Stirewalt, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with interment to follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  5. I had not seen Brenda since our Enka High days 50 years ago. She was a beautiful young teenager and is still a beautiful woman. My deepest sympathy goes out to her relatives and friends who knew and loved her dearly.
