Bron Walter Spivey, 86, of Asheville, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the WNC Baptist Retirement Home.
A native of Buncombe Co., Mr. Spivey was a son of the late Walter Mark and Bertie Wilson Spivey.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Clark Spivey; daughter, Ann Anders and husband David, of Leicester; son, Walter Spivey and wife Lynn, of Spartanburg, SC; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mr. Spivey will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Jeremy Cagle officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Spivey and my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends that knew him. His friendliness and smiles will be missed but never forgotten! May God comfort you during this difficult time.
Condolences to Martha, Anne and Walter on the passing of Bron. He was a pillar at the Cedar Hill Church as was his mother and father. He will be missed by many. We’ll always remember his pleasant smile and great personality.

Bron was a pillar of my childhood church. He was dedicated and faithful to our Lord and Savior. I looked up to him and Martha as awesome Christian examples. I am sadden by our earthly loss but know that heaven has gained an Angel! Praying for the family, love you all!!!
