Buddy Lee Plemmons

Buddy Lee Plemmons, 69, of 22 Radford Drive, Asheville, died Thursday, November 7, 2002, in a local hospital. Mr. Plemmons was born May 9, 1933 in Yancey County, to the late Essie Gaddy Rich, and was married to Sarah King Plemmons who died in 1996. He was a retired truck driver working for Pepperidge Farms and was a US Army veteran combat airborne ranger serving in the Korean conflict. He is survived by a daughter, Teresa Louise Plemmons of Asheville; three sons, Brian Lee Plemmons and Brandon Daniel Plemmons both of Asheville, and Boyce Shane Plemmons of Linden, NJ; three brothers, Dewayne Plemmons and Rev. D.H. Plemmons both of Virginia Beach, VA, and Sam Rich of Asheville; a sister, Dean Scott and husband Bob of Fla.; aunt, Francis Parham, uncle, Everette Gaddy and cousin, Ronnie Reed all Asheville; step father William H. Rich of Palatka, FL; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. D. H. Plemmons officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times, will be at the home of the daughter, Teresa Plemmons, 23 Radford Drive, Asheville.
