Bynum Sheldon Lance, 80, went to be with the Lord following a brief battle with cancer on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Sheldon was born August 13, 1941, in Asheville to the late John Bynum Lance and Virginia Randall “Lucille” Lance. He was a 1959 graduate of Erwin High School and attended Asheville-Biltmore College. He was the co-owner and operator of Steel Graphics until his retirement at age 79.

He taught us how to live and he taught us how to die.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Zephyr Hills FW Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Cason officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The church service will be livestreamed on the Zephyr Hills Facebook page.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Hartless, Jon McCoy, Connor Hartless, Carson Hartless, Jake McCoy, Andrew McCoy and Jonathan Scruggs.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
