Calvin Thomas Adams

Calvin Thomas Adams, 82, of Hendersonville, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014. A native of Tyler, TX, he was a son of the late Max and Fannie Belle Cox Adams. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Harris, and by brothers Glen, Samuel, Clyde, and William Adams. Mr. Adams is a retired Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy, and also retired from Civil Service at Patrick Air Force Base. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Polly Rice Adams; sisters Maxine Smith, Dorothy Hefton, Sue Hilton, Cherry Arcega, and Maggie Adams; brothers Robert Adams and John Adams; and a number of nieces and nephews, including specials nieces Melanie Rice and Whitney Ponder. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Joe Pressley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John F. Keever Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813, or to a charity of your choice. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
