Carl Edward Tipton, 80, of 108 Pinner's Cove Rd., Asheville died Friday, May 8, 2009, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
A native of Sevier County, TN, he was a son of the late Herbert and Lula Christopher Tipton and was also preceded in death by his wife, Faye Tipton.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa England, and a son, Gene Tipton, both of Swannanoa; a grandchild, Liberty England; sisters, Peggy Bryant of TN, Shirley Wilson of GA and Jewell Muncey of TN; a brother, Jack Tipton of Leicester and a niece, Carolyn Wilson of TN.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. His family will receive friends following the service.
Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Carl was one of a kind. He will be deeply missed. He always spoke to you when ever he seen you. My prays are with you kids.
