Carl Kelse Winkler, 77, of Candler, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., Carl was a son of the late Halbert Horton Winkler and Frances Elizabeth Young.
Surviving are his wife, Pat Winkler; daughter, Donna Lander; sons, Bryan Winkler and Todd Winkler; grandchildren, Jessica Parrish, Noelle Lovoi, Christopher Matthews, Sara Reinecke, Sarah Winkler, Ellen Reinecke, and Maggie Winkler; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Winkler will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Revs. Derick Jarvis and Brian Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.

Carl will be missed. Many friends enjoyed visiting with Carl every Wednesday at Leroy’s Boys lunch for at least past 20 years. Our meetings will not be the same with Carl missing. Regards to Pat and family. We share in your loss.

Pat and family, I am so sorry to hear about Carl. I was reading the paper this morning online and saw the Obit. This breaks my heart to hear of his passing. Carl was such a gentleman and I always enjoyed talking to him. Sending the entire family lots of love, prayers and hugs.
