Carmel T. Davis

Mr. Davis was born in McDowell County and was a son of the late Hicks and Millie Vess Davis. He was married to the late Vergie Randolph Davis. He was the former owner of Davis Greenhouses.
Surviving are two sons, R.V. “Toby” Davis of Atlanta and Scott Davis of Asheville; one sister, Lola Roberts of Charlotte; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 am Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Rev. Ashley Crowder-Stanley officiating. Burial will be on Little Creek at the Lewis Family Cemetery in Yancey County.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.

We are very sorry to hear of your loss and our prayers are with the family. I have lots of fond memories of Uncle Sid and have thought of him often. I remember our Mother telling us how he was always there for her when she needed help.
We will be at the funeral, weather permitting. If it is bad weather please know our prayers and thoughts are with all of you. We loved Uncle Sid…he was a great man and helped take care of my family when we were kids. I really respect him for that.
