Carolyn Rule Edge, 76, of Candler, died on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at her residence. A native of Knoxville, TN, Carolyn was a daughter of the late Edward Everett Rule and Vida Thornton Rule. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dunlap Edge. Mrs. Edge was an active member of Candler House of Prayer, specifically in the choir and Intercessory Prayer Group. Mrs. Edge is survived by her daughters, Stacy Edge Rumler and Katy Edge Ensley; son, Thomas R. Edge; grandchildren, Seth Ensley, Jason Rumler, Joseph Ensley, Jesse Rumler, and Anna-Grace Edge; and step-grandchildren, Daniel Maffucci, Leland Herrera, and Naomi Herrera. The funeral service for Mrs. Edge will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Chuck Waldrup and Rev. Malcolm McCarson officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

We had so many wonderful and unforgettable times with your mom and dad on trips like the one to Charleston, S.C. Your mom was so beautiful in her ballgown and your dad loved the fried chicken salad at poogan’s porch. Know you are all in our thoughts and prayers! Love to you all.
