Carr Mark Allison of Mill Spring, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at the home of his sister in Asheville after being diagnosed six weeks ago with brain cancer. Many would remember him as J.R., long time dealer of authentic military surplus at both Dreamland Flea Markets. His camouflage clothing and beard earned him the name of “Castro”. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carrie A. Morrison of Asheville. He was married to the late Margaret Poff. He is survived by his only other sister, Frances Albertson of Asheville; two nieces, Cheryl A. Rukstele of Las Vegas, NV, and Carolyn M. Marshall of Clermont, FL; two nephews, Bynum Morrison of Mims, FL, and Bob Albertson of Orlando, FL. The funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday at the Cane Creek Baptist Church, Highway #9, Lake Lure Township, with burial to follow in the family plot of the church cemetery. The Rev. Bob Philbeck, the Rev. J. Gail Coulter, and the Rev. Don Welborn will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm Friday at the church and at other times will be at the home. Pallbearers will be treasured friends, Albert Biddix and Troy Davis, cousin Roy McGuinn, and nephews Bynum Morrison, Matthew Morrison, Scott Morrison and Fred Sprague.
